RESPONSIBILITY

At Catania Worldwide, food safety is a key component of our operation. We are committed to establishing, implementing and maintaining our core food safety values throughout our supply chain to create a hygienic and safe environment for our produce.

Our robust food safety program is reinforced by our compliance with good agricultural practices (GAP) and good manufacturing practices (GMP) that satisfy the global food safety initiative standard (GFSI). We have an effective traceability and recall system that is not only consistent and efficient but also holds us accountable for knowing where our products are in the supply chain at all times.

Our facilities are audited annually to PrimusGFS Standards - Comprehensive Food Safety and Quality Management System. This ensures and demonstrates our commitment to delivering the safest, highest quality product to consumers.

GLOBALG.A.P. is a trademark and a set of standards for good agricultural practices (G.A.P.).

CanadaGAP® is a food safety program for companies that produce, handle and broker fruits and vegetables. The program has received full Canadian Government Recognition, and is designed to help implement and maintain effective food safety procedures within fresh produce operations.

PrimusGFS is a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognized audit Certification Program for the certification of produce sector products — from growing operations to minimally-processed(fresh-cut) produce products.

Our CERTIFICATES

Organic certification requires that farmers and handlers document their processes and get inspected every year. Organic on-site inspections account for every component of the operation, including, but not limited to, seed sources, soil conditions, crop health, weed and pest management, water systems, inputs, contamination and commingling risks and prevention, and record-keeping. Tracing organic products from start to finish is part of the USDA organic promise.

Certification is the process used to ensure that organic products are in line with the Canadian Organic Standards (COS). Canada’s Organic Products Regulations legally require organic products to be certified according to the COS if they are traded across provincial or international borders or use the Canada Organic Logo.
